Gel-X Fill vs New Set: When to Get Each
Most Gel-X visits after your first set are fills, not full new sets. Here's how to tell which one you actually need before you book.
When a Fill Is Enough
If your tips are still intact, well-bonded, and you just have visible regrowth at the base, a fill is all you need. Your tech fills in the gap and reseals, saving time and product compared to starting over.
When You Need a New Set
If more than one or two tips have lifted, cracked, or popped off, if you want a different length or shape, or if it's been longer than about 4 weeks since your last visit, a new set gives a cleaner, more even result than trying to patch an older set.
Cost Difference
Fills are priced lower than a full set since less product and time are involved. See current pricing for both on our Bio Gel & Gel-X page.
Not Sure Which You Need?
That's completely normal — just come in and your technician will look at your nails and tell you honestly which one actually makes sense. There's no benefit to us upselling a new set when a fill would do the job.
