Gel-X vs. Acrylic
Both give you added length and strength, but Gel-X tips are cured under a lamp and tend to feel lighter and more flexible than acrylic, with less odor during application. Aftercare: Making It Last
- •Apply cuticle oil every 2–3 days to keep the seal flexible and prevent lifting.
- •Wear gloves for dishes, cleaning, and gardening — water and chemicals are the top cause of early lifting.
- •Don't use your nails as tools to open, peel, or pry — that's the #1 way a tip cracks or pops off early.
- •Book a fill every 2–3 weeks — waiting too long past that puts more stress on the regrowth line.
