A good fit if you want noticeable length without the weight or odor of acrylic, or if your natural nails are too short/weak for a strong gel overlay alone. Most full sets run about 60–75 minutes: nails are prepped, tips are sized and glued on, shaped to length, then sealed with gel and cured under a lamp.
Available in coffin, almond, square, and stiletto shapes at your preferred length — just let your tech know what you have in mind at the start of the appointment.
Gel-X vs. Acrylic
Both give you added length and strength, but Gel-X tips are cured under a lamp and tend to feel lighter and more flexible than acrylic, with less odor during application. Aftercare: Making It Last
- •Apply cuticle oil every 2–3 days to keep the seal flexible and prevent lifting.
- •Wear gloves for dishes, cleaning, and gardening — water and chemicals are the top cause of early lifting.
- •Don't use your nails as tools to open, peel, or pry — that's the #1 way a tip cracks or pops off early.
- •Book a fill every 2–3 weeks — waiting too long past that puts more stress on the regrowth line.

It should be soaked off professionally, not peeled off at home. We use an acetone soak to gently loosen the product before lifting it away, which protects the natural nail underneath far better than pulling or picking.
