How Long Does Gel-X Last?
Most guests get about 2–3 weeks out of a Gel-X set before it needs a fill. A few things move that window in either direction.
What Shortens Wear Time
Frequent hand-washing with harsh soap, using your nails as tools (opening cans, peeling labels), and skin-on-water activities like dishwashing without gloves are the most common reasons a Gel-X set lifts early.
What Extends It
Cuticle oil every 2–3 days, gloves for cleaning, and booking your fill on time (rather than letting the regrowth line get too long) are the biggest factors within your control.
Signs It's Time for a Fill
A visible gap of natural nail growing in at the base, any lifting at the tip line, or a nail that feels loose are all signs to book — waiting too long past that puts more stress on the nail underneath.
