French Tip Nails: From Classic to Modern
The French manicure has come a long way from the standard white tip — picking the right version usually comes down to nail length and how bold you want the contrast to be.
Classic White Tips
A nude or pale pink base with a clean white tip works best on medium-to-long nails, where there's enough room for the tip to read clearly.
Micro French
Micro French uses a much thinner white line at the tip, which looks more modern and works well even on shorter nails where a full classic tip would look bulky.
Colored French
Swapping white for a color — a pastel, a bold red, or even a chrome tip — keeps the French silhouette but updates the look, and pairs especially well with a sheer base underneath.
Which Length Carries Each Style Best
Classic French: medium to long. Micro French: works on almost any length, including short and natural. Colored French: best on medium length.
